Farm Safety
Farm Safety is an area of growing importance for everyone, especially children, and even those who don’t live on a farm. Each year, farm accidents and other work-related health problems claim as many as 1,300 lives and cause 120,000 injuries a year, Most of which are preventable. That is why the Knox County Farm Bureau finds it essential to sponsor a bi-annual Farm Safety Camp for children.
Some of the safety topics covered in the camp include:
-Electricity
-Fire
-Weather
-Bicycle
-PTO's
-First Aid
-And much more!
During the camp, children get the opportunity to participate in interactive activities that reinforce the importance of taking responsibility for their own safety, respecting parents safety rules, and sharing safety tips with their family and friends.
