KCFB Young Farmers Compete at IAA Annual Meeting

There were several Young Leader events and awards that took place during the IAA Annual Meeting, held in Chicago December 3-6. We would like to congratulate Andrew Bowman who competed in the State Discussion Meet on Saturday, December 3. Andrew did an excellent job representing Knox County.

Congratulations also to Brett Swanson who received the 2011 Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leader County Chair Award. Brett has been the chair of the Knox County Farm Bureau Young Farmers committee since January 2011.

The state committee created another new award, the Outstanding County Young Leader Program Award. It recognizes an entire committee for their great involvement and impact. Knox County walked home with this honor for its grain tube rescue program.

The Knox County Farm Bureau Young Farmers committee also received a gold star for committee excellence during the 2010-2011 program year! Congratulations to all the committee members and volunteers who helped make this past year a success!
