Congratulations Monica Stevens!

During Illinois Farm Bureau's Annual Meeting, the State Young Leader Committee elected Monica Stevens as the first women to chair the statewide committee.

Monica resides in Altona and is the 3rd generation in her family to raise purebred Shorthorn cattle. Monica graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, emphasis in Animal Science. She also serves as Vice President of Knox County Cattlemen's Association and has served on the Illinois Beef Association Board of Governors in the Check-off Division.

She has been very active on the Knox County Young Farmers committee and also on the state committee for several years. She joined the Knox County Young Farmers after graduating from college to network with people of her age and who had similar interests. She also felt it would be a great way to promote agriculture – and that is exactly what she has done! Monica promotes agriculture on a weekly basis by blogging and using social media. Monica has served as vice chair and Chair of the Knox County Farm Bureau Young Farmers.

Congratulations Monica!
