Serving farmers since 1918, the Knox County Farm Bureau® has evolved into a viable ag organization and a leader within the state of Illinois. Originally organized to provide education and general farm improvement for members, the Knox County Farm Bureau® has evolved into assisting farmers with legislative issues, providing leadership opportunities, furnishing information services and products, and educating the general public about the agriculture industry. The Knox County Farm Bureau® is a powerful and respected voice for farmers and others who have an interest in agriculture. Since its beginning, the organization has built its membership from those who join voluntarily. The Knox County Farm Bureau® began in 1918 with 370 members, but has grown to over 3,000.
The Knox County Farm Bureau's® office is located in Suite 101 of the Knox Agri Center, 180 South Soangetaha Road, Galesburg. The building was built through a condominium agreement with the University of Illinois Extension Service in 1979. The Knox Agri Center serves as a place to do ag-related business, attend educational programs, and offers a home to several businesses, organizations and 4-H Clubs.
