Ag Website Testimonial
by a 5th grade Chicago Elementary Teacher -
Mrs. Lorraine Zeiler"I use these websites on our classroom computer:
http://www.agintheclassroom.org
We go to "4 Kids Only", then to category of our choice:
Kernels
Super Soybeans
Dairy Quiz
and there are several others. (This is the Illinois Farm Bureau site.)Once we pick a category, like Kernels, I tell the kids to go to "Flashcards" first to learn the facts. It reinforces the CORN Ag Mags. Then they can go to one of the games like Concentration which uses the facts on flashcards.

It MOOO-00s! So cute!
My class goes to: Virtual Tour, the Story of Milk
FAQ-all your dairy questions answered here
Moo Milk Quiz
Connect the DotsThe first 2 give facts and teach, followed by quiz and then fun with dots.
You can also get to that site through this one:
http://www.dairycam.com and then click on Moo Milk. You see other things to do,too.Last one on farming that I have is: http://www.ilcorn.org
This was stated in the corn Ag Mag, so I checked it out. I went to Education (on left side I think) and clicked on that, and lo and behold...Captain CORNelius Comics! That was a surprise for us. The kids thought that was great.
Another site I used last spring and will use again for understanding how plants grow, etc. is:
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/gpe/gpe.htmlIt is "The Great Plant Escape" by Univ. of IL. It is a series of mysteries that the kids can "solve" so it's very interactive, which is the best."
