
Task Forces
The Knox County Farm Bureau is divided into four Task Forces that promote Agriculture Education, Government and Policy, Member Relations, and Farm Business advancement.

Education
The Education Task Force works to promote agriculture literacy for youth, teachers, and adults, as well as networking throughout the community.
They work closely with our Ag in the Classroom coordinator to communicate with teachers about Ag in the Classroom activities they can participate in, as well as going to classrooms to do presentations on a variety of subjects including pumpkins, corn, apples, and butterflies, to name a few.
This Task Force also works to recruit local teachers to participate in Summer Ag Institute, as well as help with classes at the Summer Ag Institute session.
Member Relations
The Member Relations Task Force focuses in relations with COUNTRY Financial and a Farm Bureau membership drive, as well as member relations, communications, services & benefits, and publicity.
This Task Force works closely with affiliate companies to promote membership and all
of the benefits that members of the Knox County Farm Bureau receive.
Additionally, the Member Relations Task Force put together an appreciation program for all Farm Bureau volunteers.
Also, this Task Force provides welcome packets to new members and sponsors events for 4-H and FFA students.
Government and Policy

2011 Viewpoint Survey Results
This Task Force visits with our State Representative and Senator in Springfield to discuss pertinent topics, as well as our Adopted Legislator's District in Chicago. Furthermore, they maintain good contact with local officials and provide our membership with information about cadidates running for office. Additionally, they work on policy development and submittal of any needed resolutions.
The Government and Policy Task Force works towards a strong relationship with legislators, policy development, legislative education for members, and awareness of local issues. They also promote the Illinois Farm Bureau's ACTIVATOR political aciton fund as well as upcoming elections.
Farm Business
The Farm Business Task Force strives to promote farm business education and information, commoditiy and general agriculture promotion, economic development and safety for those throughout the community.
This Task Force schedules speakers who present agriculture marketing seminars as well as field seminars and strategic marketing sessions. They also promote local commodities and educate the public on the value of farm products in the food they eat.
